FAQ
- My tap didn’t register, or the count looks wrong.
- Each tap adds one entry with a timestamp. If a tap seems missing, check the full log — the entry is usually there. If you tapped by accident, shake the device to undo the most recent entry.
- Shake to undo isn’t doing anything.
- Shake undo removes the last entry only. It needs a firm shake, and it does nothing if there are no entries left to remove. If your device has Shake to Undo disabled system-wide (Settings → Accessibility → Touch), that can interfere; turning it back on resolves it.
- I paid but the app still shows the trial.
- The Full version purchase is tied to your Apple Account. Open the purchase screen and tap Restore Purchases while signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with. If it still doesn’t unlock, email me.
- Will there be a subscription?
- No. It’s a 7-day trial followed by a single one-time purchase. No subscriptions, no accounts.
- Is my data backed up?
- All your counts and history are stored locally on the device and are included in your normal device backup (iCloud Backup or an encrypted Finder/iTunes backup). There is no separate cloud sync, so nothing is kept on a server.
- Can I get a refund?
- Refunds are handled by Apple. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find Count & Track, and request the refund there.
What is a median interval?
An interval is the gap in time between two consecutive entries. If you count something a few times a day, the app can tell you either the average interval or the median interval, and it shows the median.
The average is the total time divided by the number of gaps. The problem is that a single unusual gap throws it off. Count something regularly for a week, then leave it alone for ten days, and the average interval jumps even though your normal rhythm never changed.
The median is the middle value: line up every interval from shortest to longest and take the one in the middle. Half your gaps are shorter, half are longer. One long pause doesn’t drag it around, so it’s a more honest description of your typical spacing than the average is. That’s why Count & Track shows the median.
